Rubber, Self-inking & Pre-inked Stamps
and all Marking devices |

The stamped word present to futureIn the beginning was the WORD, and it was good, but it was written, and there was great need for it to be repeated. And geese became wary and scarce as there was much moaning and gnashing of teeth over the WORKLOAD as it was handwritten by Goose quill. And so it continued for many years, mainly in the temple. And the potato was discovered, and it became a great food source and well fed scribes discovered that the raw potato could be carved and it would take ink, and so for the WORD which had to be repeated there was THE POTATO, and it was good and saved much time. But many were the injuries from careless carving (a top ten hit in those far away days) leading to too many red words, and it was decided there must be A BETTER WAY But the Temple was unsure about spreading the word it did not control and so THE BETTER WAY was delayed. And it came to pass that rubber was discovered, and besides population control, which was also good, it was noted that rubber could be moulded, and melted rubber could be poured into reverse carved potatoes(making a rubbish mould, but was the first step in the invention of the mighty CHIP). And it was found that letters could be carved out of wood, and plaster of Paris could be moulded round these and rubber could be melted into the MOULD, producing a reverse impression device, whose goodness was tested by being jumped upon by the WORKERS, thus leading to STAMPING. And many were the business concerns making this product and it fulfilled a myriad of uses becoming a number of different products over time such as the market created by the Artful Dodger and Fagin - being ARTY and CRAFTY and many and good were the hand made cards and projects resulting from this. And it came to pass that MATRIX board was invented and could be used to impress type into for the impression, and many were the redundancies amongst the Plaster of Paris producers, but this was the WAY FORWARD. And lead type was invented and many were the redundancies amongst the wood carvers one of whom was LUD and thus were born the LUDDITES who wished to turn back time, but the STAMPED WORD was stronger and they did not succeed. And computing came to pass and many were the groans and gnashing of teeth amongst rubber stamp makers, printers and paper manufacturers as it was seen that COMPUTING would REMOVE the need for paper and therefore the stamped and printed WORD ( and flying pigs carried this new word)– HA! But it actually came to pass that ever more stamps were needed to fulfil the multifarious needs of businesses and crafty people. And into this environment was born TRU-MARK, a small but good purveyor of the WORD, and they joined with Kershaws Rubber Stamps, becoming KRS, a maker of fine rubber, polymer and pre-inked stamps. And it came to pass that they also joined with Rochdale Rubber Stamps and StampIt and remained as KRS and with the aid of the most streamlined abacus systems and compositing methods (not to be confused with following horses with a shovel) are able to supply many fine businesses with their marking needs, thus maintaining THE BETTER WAY.. And it came to pass that the establishment was too small for their customers needs, and so the trek from the wilderness to the promised land was proposed, and a new home was found, and the great trek was organised and the sea was parted and it was good and it was The Stamp Factory (actually just round the corner …..) and it was bigger and better and cost the Customer no more than before (because everyone is so happy in the new Stamp Factory land that they work for nothing, and Father Christmas now lives here and tends to his flying pigs, which being more believable, have replaced flying reindeer). If you're passing drop in for a tea or coffee with us, the kettle is always on. |
